1. Who we are
Libri is an Android application for students and operators of self-study libraries and reading rooms in India. In this policy, “Libri”, “we”, “our” and “us” refer to the Libri service and its developer. Questions can be sent to shahidshamimshah3@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
Account and identity information
We collect your name, email address, phone number, account role and an internal user identifier. If you use email sign-in, we store a one-way password hash, not your readable password. If you use Google sign-in, Google and Firebase provide identity information needed to authenticate you.
Library and membership information
Library owners may add a library name, city, locality, opening hours, amenities, rooms, seats, plans, cabin types and prices. Libri also stores membership applications, assigned seats, membership dates, attendance, renewal history and manually recorded payment details such as amount, method, date and optional reference.
Technical and security information
Our hosting and authentication providers may process IP addresses, device or browser information, request metadata and security logs to operate the service, prevent abuse and investigate errors. Libri does not include an advertising SDK.
App analytics
Android releases with analytics enabled use Google Analytics for Firebase to measure first opens, sessions, engagement, screen views, successful sign-ins and registrations, library creation, membership applications and submission of payment references. Event details are limited to fixed screen names, sign-in method and account role. We do not send your name, email, phone number, Libri account ID, search text, library details, payment amount or payment reference to Analytics. The SDK also processes app-instance identifiers, device and app information and IP-derived approximate location. Advertising ID collection and advertising personalization are disabled.
City search
When a library owner searches for a city during setup, the search text is sent to Open-Meteo’s geocoding service. We do not intentionally attach your Libri account details to that request.
3. What we do not collect
The Android app does not request device-location permissions, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or storage access. Libri does not collect card numbers, UPI PINs, bank passwords or other payment credentials, and it does not process payments.
4. How we use information
- Create and secure your account.
- Show study-library details and available plans or seats.
- Process and review membership applications.
- Help owners manage members, seats, payments, renewals and attendance.
- Link an existing walk-in membership to the correct account.
- Provide support, diagnose failures and protect Libri from misuse.
- Understand which app features are used and improve onboarding and reliability.
- Meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
5. When information is visible to others
Public library details can be viewed by signed-in students. A library owner can view the information needed to manage applicants and members of that library. Students can view their own applications and linked membership history. We do not sell personal information.
6. Service providers
We use service providers to run Libri, including Google Firebase and Google Sign-In for authentication, Firebase Cloud Messaging for notifications, Google Analytics for Firebase for app usage measurement, Render for API hosting, a managed PostgreSQL database provider for storage, and Open-Meteo for city suggestions. These providers may process information on our behalf under their own service and privacy terms. They may operate infrastructure outside your state or country.
7. Storage and security
Libri uses HTTPS for data in transit, access controls, hashed passwords and secure token storage on supported Android devices. No system is completely secure, but we limit access and use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information we handle.
8. Retention and deletion
We retain account information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. When an account is deleted, identifying profile information is deleted or replaced with non-identifying values, a linked Firebase identity is scheduled for deletion, and an owner’s public library listing is deactivated. Operational records such as applications, payments or attendance may be retained without your identifying profile where reasonably necessary for security, dispute handling, record integrity or legal compliance.
Analytics is not assigned your Libri account ID. Deleting your account resets the local analytics app-instance identifier; it does not by itself erase previously collected Analytics events. Analytics event retention is controlled separately in our Google Analytics property.
You can delete your account inside the app or follow our external account-deletion process.
9. Your choices
You may review or update profile details in the app, sign out, change a password-managed account’s password, or request permanent account deletion. You may also ask about access, correction or erasure by emailing shahidshamimshah3@gmail.com from your registered email address.
10. Children
Libri is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can investigate and remove it where required.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Libri’s features, providers or legal obligations change. The latest version will remain available on this page with its effective date.
